What To Expect
The Stay and Play is important to prepare both you and your child and to create a familiar drop-off routine as you settle into the centre. We recommend for each child to attend the Service in the company of a family member three times before they start. We encourage you to step away from the room, particularly for the 2nd and 3rd sessions, so your child can become familiar with this before they start.
Learning How To Navigate The Centre
Just like your child will be learning the routine of the room, you will also have a drop-off and pick-up routine that you will become familiar with over time. This includes signing in and out, collecting soiled clothes, dropping in forms and collecting your take-home meal. Your Stay and Play is a great opportunity to get a headstart in learning these processes.
Stay and Play For a While
Of course, a Stay and Play wouldn’t be complete without playing! Your child will be invited to participate in classroom activities for the time that you are attending (typically an hour). During that time, you may stay in the room with your child and get to know your centre director.
